Beat Egli

Coordinator Shop Bern, Switzerland

Beat has been an SCFA supporter member since 2006. Beat’s childhood dream was to become an aircraft mechanic and to work on vintage airplanes. But Beat decided to follow his calling, and has been working as a social education worker, specializing in children with mental illnesses. His role as the director of the SCFA shop has been a welcome balance to his everyday job; it is a great way of combining his joy of being around people with his love for vintage aircraft. He values teamwork, and has enjoyed working at, and organizing everything surrounding the SCFA event shop-stand for the last decade.

Kurt Tanner

Team Member, Fan-Shop, Basel Melkirch, Switzerland

Kurt has been passionate about aviation ever since he was a little child. He would gather all information, from magazine articles to anything else he could get his hands on. He often visited Zürich airport where, back in the day, it was possible to get much more up close and personal with aircraft than it is today. Visiting the airport opened up a whole new world to Kurt. Professionally, however, he worked in mineral oil and energy sales. He became interested in volunteering for the SCFA when friends of his were recruiting new association members. Being part of the Super Constellation Flyers Association has brought him closer to his passion and fascination for our beautiful and unique aircraft. The Super Constellation represents the nostalgia of the days where flights to the Far East had to make fuel stops in Athens, Cairo, or Teheran. Kurt hopes to be a part of the SCFA for many years to come, and wishes to share his enthusiasm for the Connie as well as the Fan-Shop with all visitors at air shows.

Diese Aufgaben machen Peter besonders viel Freude, da er sie zusammen mit seinen Shopkolleginnen und -kollegen ausführen kann. Die gemeinsame Liebe zur Connie schweisst das Team zusammen.

Markus A. Gerig

Head of Shop Purchases Liestal, Switzerland

Markus has been an SCFA supporter since 2004. Beauty and elegance were of utmost importance in his career; therefore, it made sense for Markus to join forces with an association engaging in the upkeep of the most beautiful aircraft ever built. Shortly after retiring in 2007, he invested in a small company founded by two pilots who enjoyed building and selling B737 simulators in their free time. That is how he came into contact with Francisco Agullo’s Connie-simulator. When the SCFA’s fan shop headquarters were transferred to Basel, Markus did not hesitate to offer his sales experience and expertise to our team of shop personnel.
